Our big fundraiser starts in a few days! Our goal is to raise $25,000.00 For Educational Programs, supplies, activities and other needs not covered by our budget.

We are asking ALL parents to pre-register their student(s) here:
https://www.shopfund.com/parentregister
Make sure you use Group Code: JJALK

Please get at least one person to support our fundraiser before our official kick-off day. Any student that is registered and adds 10 contacts will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win over 1,000 prizes. How cool would it be if we took a chunk out of our goal BEFORE the fundraiser even starts?

Join Our Community Research Initiative

Altus Public Schools is participating in a first-of-its-kind study measuring public confidence in K-12 education across the country, initiated by the AASA - the National School Superintendents Association.

We need to hear from YOU. Your perspective -- as a member of our school community -- is essential to understanding how our district can strengthen trust and improve outcomes.

The interview takes about 5 to 8 minutes and your responses are anonymous. No individual answers are ever shared or attributed.

Join Here: https://tejoin.com/participate/949953845

Participation will be open until Sept. 14 at 11 pm

Thank you for being part of this important conversation — the more voices we hear from, the stronger our district's story will be!

Rivers teachers needed
Dear Bulldog Families,
Like many school districts across Oklahoma, Altus Public Schools will make a small adjustment to the school day beginning with the 2026-2027 school year to comply with a new state law.
Senate Bill 1481 requires all Kindergarten through 5th grade students to receive at least 40 minutes of supervised, unstructured recess each day, which doubles the previous requirement. The law also specifies that 20 of those 40 minutes cannot count as instructional time.
To meet these new requirements while preserving valuable classroom instruction, the Altus Public Schools Board of Education has approved adding 10 minutes to the school day.
Beginning this school year, all Altus Public Schools campuses will follow the same schedule:
School Begins: 7:55 a.m.
School Dismisses: 3:05 p.m.
Morning bus routes are expected to remain on their current schedule. Afternoon bus routes will begin approximately five minutes later than in previous years.
While this is a small adjustment, it allows us to comply with state law while continuing to provide our students with the high-quality instruction they deserve each day.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our students, staff, and the entire Bulldog community. We look forward to another outstanding school year.
Sincerely,
Roe Worbes
